## Overview

## Grammar / Communication patterns covered

### Wo liegt...? — in + Land (reinforces/extends Menschen L10)

Türkei** take an article; other countries (Deutschland, Österreich,

A fixed contradiction-and-correction pattern: "Liegt Berlin in
Italien? — Nein, Berlin liegt nicht in Italien, Berlin liegt in
Deutschland." Useful, very regular sentence frame for practicing
nicht-negation with a correction follow-up.

### Wegbeschreibung — Imperativ + Richtungsadverbien
Gehen Sie geradeaus / links / rechts (imperative direction-giving,
reinforcing the Sie-imperative also seen in the Lesen & Schreiben
book's Abschnitt C). Fahren Sie eine Station mit dem Bus (using public
transport for directions). Fixed polite exchange phrases: Entschuldigen
Sie / Vielen Dank / Gerne / Bitte, nichts zu danken / Bitte, kein
Problem.

1. **Übung 16: Wo liegt...?** — (16a) listen and complete 8
   fill-in-the-blank "wo liegt...?" Q&A pairs about German-speaking
   capital cities and European countries/regions; (16b) listen to 8
   more parallel Q&A pairs and answer aloud.

## Notes / gotchas

- **The country-article exception list appears yet again** (in der
  Schweiz, in der Türkei) — this is now the fourth or fifth time across
  the three supplementary books; treat it as a "should be automatic by
  now" checkpoint rather than new content.
- **Ü18's dialogue set is real-world practical** and complements the
  Wortschatz & Grammatik book's Abschnitt E (also Wegbeschreibung) —
  the phrase inventories differ slightly (this book adds "Fahren Sie
  eine Station mit dem Bus" for transit directions, which the other
  book doesn't cover), so combining both gives fuller coverage of
  direction-giving language.
- **Ü17 is unusable without either audio or the printed Lösung**, since
  it's a pure listening-discrimination task (choosing between two
  visually similar place names) — the Lösung page is the only way this
  content is usable here, which is exactly what was captured above.
- **This is a short section (3 exercises, 7 pages)** — pairs naturally
  with either the preceding Abschnitt B or the following Abschnitt D
  for a combined study session.
