Position prepositions (C9) — new grammar beyond Menschen A1.1

These are Wechselpräpositionen used here with the Dativ (der → dem, die → der) to express a fixed location ("Wo?"). Menschen A1.1 does not introduce this grammar point or the Dativ case — flag it as new/extra if used in exercises, and don't assume the student already understands Dativ endings from the main course.

Notes / gotchas

• C9's Dativ prepositions are new grammar not covered by Menschen A1.1 — treat as bonus content, and don't quiz the Dativ endings themselves as if already mastered.
• Plural formation recap (C3) reinforces the 5 plural patterns from Menschen L6 using different (furniture) vocabulary — good cross-practice.
• an vs. auf vs. in for "on/in" is a common confusion point: an = attached to a vertical surface (wall), auf = resting on a horizontal surface, in = inside a container — worth calling out explicitly since English "on" covers both an and auf.
• die Miete (singular) vs. Mieten (plural) in C4 — "die Mieten sind hoch" (rents/rent prices are high) uses the plural for "rent levels in general," not one person's individual rent.
