## Grammar (Tipp-Boxen in diesem Abschnitt)

- **das „chen"/„lein"**: nouns ending in **-chen** or **-lein** are
  always **das** (neuter) — das Päckchen, das Mädchen, das Brieflein
  ("kleiner Brief"). Same rule already seen for das Mädchen in Abschnitt
  A; this confirms it's a general suffix rule, not a one-off exception.
- **Nomen + passendes Verb**: learn noun+verb collocations together
  (eine E-Mail bekommen/schreiben/schicken) rather than words in
  isolation — flashcard tip.
- **Verben im Wörterbuch stehen nur im Infinitiv**: dictionaries list
  only infinitives (können, not kann/kannst). If a conjugated form isn't
  found, add **-en** back and try adjusting the vowel (kann → könn-en,
  since modal verbs often have a stem vowel change between singular
  present and infinitive).

## Notes / gotchas

- **This section is almost entirely new vocabulary** relative to
  Menschen A1.1 — post office, banking, and police/traffic vocabulary
  aren't part of the main course's numbered lessons. Safe to introduce
  as pure supplementary content.
- **The -chen/-lein neuter-suffix rule is worth reinforcing** as a
  standing rule rather than exercise-specific trivia — it reliably
  predicts gender regardless of the root noun's own gender (die Karte →
  das Kärtchen would still be das, for example).
- **G4's Sie-commands with müssen/können** ("Sie müssen ... ausfüllen",
  "Sie können ... abgeben") are a good real-world pattern for modal verb +
  Satzklammer, reinforcing the modal-verb bracket structure from
  Menschen L7 even though the content itself (Amt vocabulary) is new.
- **Dictionary-lookup tip (G7) is genuinely useful pedagogically**: when
  a conjugated irregular verb form can't be found, add back -en and try
  alternate vowels — a practical self-study skill worth mentioning to
  the student directly, independent of this exercise's content.
