Add Wortschatz & Grammatik A1 Abschnitt C (Wohnen und Hausarbeit)
Rooms, furniture, flat-hunting vocab, and on/off/open/closed household phrases (pp. 24-29). Cross-references Menschen L4-L6 for articles/plural/ Akkusativ; flags C9's Dativ position prepositions as new grammar beyond A1.1. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

## Overview
- Skill focus: Wortschatz (matching, gap-fill, opposites, prepositions of
place)
- Topic: rooms of a house, furniture, flat-hunting vocabulary, describing
a flat, household objects on/off/open/closed, position prepositions
(Wo?/Wechselpräpositionen with Dativ)
- Relates to *Menschen* Lektion(en): **L4** (der/das/die, Nomen+Adjektiv —
Der Tisch ist schön), **L5/L6** (ein/eine, kein/keine, Plural-Endungen —
directly drilled again here with furniture nouns), **L6** (Akkusativ —
"Ich suche eine Wohnung" uses Akkusativ objects). **C9 (position
prepositions with Dativ: an/auf/unter/vor/in)** goes **beyond** Menschen
A1.1, which doesn't formally teach the Wechselpräpositionen/Dativ yet.

## Grammar (Tipp-Box in diesem Abschnitt)
- **Lernen mit Zetteln**: label furniture with sticky notes including
article + plural — pink for **die** (feminine), blue for **der**
(masculine), green for **das** (neuter).
### Position prepositions (C9) — new grammar beyond Menschen A1.1
| Preposition | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| an | on (vertical surface) | Das Bild hängt **an** der Wand. |
| auf | on (horizontal surface) | Der Tisch steht **auf** dem Teppich. |
| unter | under | Der Hund liegt **unter** dem Tisch. |
| vor | in front of | Der Tisch steht **vor** dem Schrank. |
| in | in | Die Blumen sind **in** der Vase. |
| aus | out of / from | Das Kind kommt **aus** dem Haus. |
These are **Wechselpräpositionen** used here with the **Dativ** (der →
dem, die → der) to express a fixed location ("Wo?"). *Menschen* A1.1 does
not introduce this grammar point or the Dativ case — flag it as new/extra
if used in exercises, and don't assume the student already understands
Dativ endings from the main course.

## Notes / gotchas
- **C9's Dativ prepositions are new grammar** not covered by Menschen
A1.1 — treat as bonus content, and don't quiz the Dativ endings
themselves as if already mastered.
- **Plural formation recap (C3)** reinforces the 5 plural patterns from
Menschen L6 using different (furniture) vocabulary — good cross-practice.
- **an vs. auf vs. in** for "on/in" is a common confusion point: an =
attached to a vertical surface (wall), auf = resting on a horizontal
surface, in = inside a container — worth calling out explicitly since
English "on" covers both an and auf.
- **die Miete (singular) vs. Mieten (plural)** in C4 — "die Mieten sind
hoch" (rents/rent prices are high) uses the plural for "rent levels in
general," not one person's individual rent.
